UCSD Graduate Killed in Alpine Area Crash
Angela August, a 25-year-old UCSD Graduate, was killed when her stalled car was struck by 30-year-old Sunny Hall in El Cajon, CA. The circumstances as to why Ms. August’s car was stalled on the freeway are still under investigation, but police did arrest Ms. Hall on suspicion of DUI. Ms. August lost control of her 2009 Toyota Yaris and rolled up an embankment on Interstate 8. The car then overturned and rolled several times into the far left lane of the freeway. A short time later, 59-year-old Jimmy Arevalo stopped at the scene and tried to help Ms. August. Mr. Arevalo was standing on the side of the freeway when Ms. Hall’s 2003 Audi crashed into the Yaris and Mr. Arevalo. Both parties died at the scene. A funeral service was held for Ms. August on Saturday, June 16th in Alpine, CA.
